Hangar 9 P-47 60 vs Spitfire 60

So I ordered a P-47 from my hobbyshop but it doesn't ship out till Monday so I can change if I would like. I also saw the Spitfire and really like it's looks. I am using an ASP FS91AR. This will be my first 60 sized warbird. I do fly a fast prop jet (F-20) and an Escapade but really want to know which warbird is best for me. I have 2 days before it ships out. Does the Spitfire still have it's elevator problems? I do have a Parkzone Spitfire and it flies great. Which would you recommend? Should I change it?

Both planes are great flyers, so it really is the flip of a coin to decide.
Either one would work for you.

I think I will stick with the P-47. Since I've heard too many horror stories with the spitfire about the flaps. I hope it flies well! thanks earlwb

Plus 1 on the P-47. A well-mannered airplane!

I would have to agree that the P-47 is the better of the two, but that is only my opinion.

We have a clubmember with the Spitfire flys great! I never heard him complain about the flaps.
The P-47 flys fine also. I have the 60 size Hellcat and I love it.
Enjoy, Walter

RCflyer, What did you decide to do?
Based on the advice you received here I'll bet you called your hobby shop and order two other models as well?

Another for the P-47. I also have the Hellcat, about 3 years old. Just noticed this weekend that the right side stab was fluttering. Appears to be a broken glue joint at the rear next to the fuse. You could see it by flexing it. I've heard of over powered Hellcats loosing a stab, but mine is'nt. Power is a saito .91 with a flying weight of about 9 lbs.
