Not enough power.

A minimalist solution would be an 8Ah 4s Headway pack.

Yes. i have seen only 4A discharge current.
And this one:

would have 8A discharge current, so about 96W. That should be enough.

I need at least 15AH and less than 2kg weight (for icharge 106B+)

CP heli ≠ 3D heli

Solar pannels will not work and cost way too much. First off, a solar panel will only generate it's rated output when the sun is directly above, so you can only use at it's peak output (being optimistic) for 4 hours a day, the other 4 hours will be only half the output (in the summer). Unless you live on the equator, you don't get enough sun to have 100% output from a solar panel.

The other thing about solar panels is the area required to deploy them. You can only get 10 watts per square foot at 100% efficiency, which means that for real life scenario, you need 6 square feet for 30 watts, that's only a single 3S1P 2200 LiPo. And you can only charge it four times in a day on that 6 sq. foot panel, which means that I would need about 24 sq. feet of panels to replace my field battery.

Do you know what 24 sq. feet of panels cost? And this is only if you fly a 450 sized heli.

It is not the solar panel. it also have a rerchargable battery. but i have now seen that the current is only 4A. The other lipo-Battery has 8A, but i think it is still too little. So maybe headway 4S is a better way. maybe 4S 15AH. Where is a good and cheap shop to get one?

Concerning headway cells and stuff, I just opened a thread about my approach:

Yes a 6S LiPo will work for small 3s recharges. Just change your chargers input voltage minimum so the source battery does not get drawn down to far.
What do you drive? If a pickup/SUV there is room under the hood for two batteries.
Use one of these
This way you have a install and forget system that is always ready to go,

We connect a BIG LIPO to a DC field charger & start charging lots of small packs continously.

Who is sitting there with a accurate digital voltmeter watching the BIG LIPO drop in voltage & watching the charging LIPOs ????

Probably no one.

Well I screwed up. Forgot a tiny little detail.

My charger can only take 18V DC input max. So a 6s Lipo is out of the question at 22.2V. At least this wound up to be a great conversation and kick started some alternative ideas.

I guess I will be looking more into the LiFePo's or a larger gel cell. A second battery in my car won't work, it's only a Kia Soul and fitting 3 kids, the wife and the gear is already an effort in itself.

Enclosed roof carrier ? There are those long plastic boxes that go on the roof racks.

Actually, I am looking into those....imagine the battery I could store in there!

I HAVE to ask... do you use an automobile to get to the flying field?
I'm assuming a regular ol' couple alligator clips to a 12V car battery isn't in the plan... :^)
(I say again, HAD to ask )

The roof is a great place to have a

Not in the trunk or passenger space. Talk about toxic choking smoke !!

Up on the roof top all the RC gear. Enjoy

With some wood spacers, You COULD put a standard big car battery up there. Maybe ?

No, don't really want to use the car's battery. I know I could get away with it just fine considering the size packs I'm charging. But between the kids running around and making sure the planes and Tx's are set up I am pretty busy. IF (capital IF mind you) a Lipo were to pop while I'm flying or buddy-boxed with one of the kids I don't want it near the car.

i will say get a deep cycle battery and forget about that 6s lipo.

deep cycle battery is about $60 in walmart or pepboys and it should could take care the small lipos when u in field.

As we all know lipo is not too stable when being discharge below 3.7 per cell. Not that worth to risk the fun family flying section because of the 6s lipo get fire.

If you decide to teach your children how to fly, please teach them how to charge lipo the correct way.

just my 2 cents.
