That's nice, and all, but not really applicable to the notion that Christmas was "stolen" from the Winter Solstice.

The early Christians did not celebrate Christmas and it was not until around the III century that it began to be celebrated as an alternative to the Sol Invuctus celebrations. Nobody is suggesting that Christianity "stole" it: it was acquired as a permanent loan.

More seriously. How do we know that? AFAIK, no calendar of celebrations exists to that time. So it's a case of lack of proof does not prove a lack

How wonderful society would indeed be if all children were allowed to keep their naivety through all their life without finding out they were indeed naive by all those who take advantage of them.

With the amount of early literature associated with Christianity, it is surprising that the nativity was not mentiones as a festivity before 354 when it got a mention in the Chronography when it was declared a festivity by Pope Liberius. Plus, of course, it is not anti-Christian not to celebrate Christmas. The puritans forbade its celebration in England during the time of Cromwell, a fact mirrored by the actions of the earliest puritans in North America. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/1...istmas-is-Real

He also died a Jew and those who accept Him become adopted Jews as brothers of Christ.
