Not sure of how much money you have budgeted for your plane, but another good starter plane is the CARF Eurosport. If this plane is setup properly it will provide many hours of fun flying. The Eurosport is more of a semi-scale model, but it can be flown with a power unit producing as little as 24 lbs of thrust, or as much as 45lbs. When I owned one, it had a 24lbs thurst unit installed. After about 3 years with this plane, I sold it to a guy who flew it for another 2 to 3 year with an AMT 450 installed (45lbs of thrust). The Eurosport will fly from a short runway and it is very aerobatic, but not very fast.

I would love to get the Eurosport, (one day, the Eurofighter is my goal jet), but my turbine only produces 18 lbs of thrust. I have been looking at KingTech and Kolibris engines but I'm going to have to stick to my original plan. Learn flying with this RAM 750 and then buy another engine that will fly the Euro. Many years of fun to look forwards to .
