L.A. Port $1,000,000,000 a day loss

600 paper handling clerks who already make $90,000 a year with 2.5 months paid time off as well, $0.00 deductible drug costs, $5.00 doctor visits, are on strike for better wages and benefits.

It is costing the Port of Los Angeles one billion dollars a day in lost revenues.

Your merchandise you have been waiting for to arrive at your local store (nationwide by the way) is probably not going to make it in time for Christmas or whatever holiday it is you celebrate.

600 overpaid paper handlers putting thousands of others at risk and lost wages? Mind boggling....

Considering their FY 2012 FY total operating revenue was just under 410,000,000 as in MILLION, I'd say that statement is a tad off the mark. They sure do have a pretty financial report!

Perhaps the Daily News writer got confused by the number of Twinkies America will lose due to those selfish union folk!

Gads, I would be happy if someone guaranteed me a fourth of that salary every
year, without benefits...

Paper handling can be a risky job. Ever had a paper cut?

Extortion: The obtaining of property from another induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right.
I have never understood why we have laws against the use of extortion, but unions can do it with impunity.
We have two great evils in our nation that adversely affect our economy, Unions and Lawyers, neither of which serve a social good anymore.

They forget, what happened the last time: Ensenata Mexico, by trucks, SFO and Oakland, by train, Vancouver Canada, by train. All were temporary answers, but some ports, profited in extra traffic, long term. ??? CaptCB
