Thanks for the recommendations Pat. I think I'll give it a shot.

In the 1:1, the engines are installed with the outboard ones forward of the center one. I toyed with the idea of using a single motor with belt drive to the outboard shafts, but discarded the idea because a) the shaft angles are not parallel, and b) prop walk in reverse would be pretty bad with all three turning in the same direction.

I should have the project under way in the next couple of weeks. Since I doubt that I could exceed your building and documentation skills, I'll spare the group the step by step hull construction process, but plan to start posting once I am ready to install running gear.

Go with the 930 KV and you'll be in good shape.

Is really necessary to "glass" a boat hull? I use three coats of epoxy finishing resin , and never had a problem with leaks or cracks. Your opinions , please.

Shadow, Personally, I won't do another balsa planked hull without fiberglass. Reason being, I did the Jenny Lee without, and within 3 months it was taking on water. But, if going without is working for you, it's best to stick with what works.
