Yippee!
Gizmo 36
Hi guys
Finally getting close to the pointy end of a long process. I've alway love blended style wings , and wanted to build a composite one. So after many hand drawings, and hours of day dreaming , I came up with a concept that I liked. With the help from great friends sean moloney , and Peter wick (airfoils). We eventually narrowed it down to 3 designs. With this design , had problem with the blended centre section fighting the wing. Peter done a lot of work to design a foil for the centre that would complement flight. Building an electric is easy , building something that has to fly in all conditions is a challenge. BUT I'm sure we have nailed it.. Ha ha Hopefully it will fly ????? ![]() ![]() Anyway it's been great ride , combining with mates.. Hopefully before Xmas we will be able to see... Tim

Always loved the wowing's plank , also drongo , bluto etc.
My urge to build a blended plank came years ago when this caught my eye. Almost did the wh60 this way but for DS blended centre is not ideal for drag. The gizmo has a weird reflexed centre and a more simetrical wing , as great lift distribution , and stability and doesn't show signs of tip stall. Due to it's large centre section and genorous tips , It has a wider static margin for the CG , making it easier to CG. There has been a lot of work put into this to make it right. And I'm sure it will fly amazing....well I guess in a few weeks we will know.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
