Question

Thinning Z-poxy Finishing Resin

I have read you can thin this finishing resin with denatured alcohol. My question is can you use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol? This is all I have right now.

As thin as that stuff is I don't know why you would want to thin it further.
I have used isopropyl on 30 minute epoxy before with no problems though.

I use this stuff and find that when it gets cold it really thickens up and find warming the bottles up in some WARM (not boiling!) water thins it out nicely but does seem to reduce curing time so be quick, however I use this method when doing carbon inlays to saturate the cloth nicely

Hope this helps

I just got it and haven't used it yet (this will be my first time), so I didn't know it was already thin. Thanks for the input I will mix a batch and try it without thinning it.

Sounds like a good idea.

Yes I have used this exact brand and warming up in hot water for 15 mins will make it apply thin, flat n level with a foam brush along with filling in any small gaps.

You guys are right. No need to thin. I put it in hot water for 15 min and it worked great. Thanks for ALL the advice.
