Gymstar

Not exactly F3P I know.

New in from Flying Dog is my latest design the Gymstar

I've been asked for some time about a model thats suitable as a true indoor aerobatic trainer with better stability than a regular mid wing machine. All EPP construction and beautifully printed.

Rob will also be producing my Afriel Ultra which should be available by Jan

Great to hear! Looks like a great fun!
I had the Electrifly Citabria and it was mostly trouble even if it was fun to fly it. The Gym-Star looks to be of a better design and EPP is also a plus. I've built three Twisted Hobbys/RC-Factory planes in EPP.

Thanks for the pictures! Yes, I agree the pictures are not the best I've seen, but still, looks like a real winner!
I'm looking forward to a video, but don't rush it.

Foam alone.

Two servo wing is definitely the way to go. Flaps work really well and will slow it down to about the same speed as a Vapor! Also nice to have the option of differential adjustment. Andy's idea of a high level tail works extremely well, as there's very little coupling in KE.

Using HS-35's all round, cheap Turnigy motor/esc and a 300 2S pack the RTF weight can in a bang on 130grms.

Awesome fun and something a little different

Looks a bit strange without any dihedral.

Here is a similar model: http://www.hells-cnc-artists.keepfree.de/

Do you compare a 3D trainer with a sport scale model of a Wilga with only rudder and elevator? As it looks and flies in the video it is too simple for most pilots in this forum.

But it looks great!

Have a look at post #1: The Gymstar is intended as "a true indoor trainer with better stability than a regular mid wing machine". I am sure the Wilga will serve this purpose as well.
