Fiberglass just crashes better

Okay how many Rednecks are there (5-6)? Cuz only see three in the pic's and there seems to be an "examination" room in the back. And aren't those "examination-grade" blue gloves?! What else is happening on your build hook-ups? Brian and Carl are missing, interesting...

Only four of us and no "moon river" re-enactments! We sheeted four sets of cores today. We'll put LEs on TEs shape and then light glass to suit.

All while we're waiting for our zero fuses!

Dude! You guys work fast!

I once tried putting the whole stack of beds/cores in the vac bag. Ended up with whole lot glued together as the epoxy seeped through and around the edges of the skin (obechi)

Good question! If we'd been thinking we would have done a weigh in before adding epoxy. But we're not too worried about weight!

thats the reason I switched to 3M, epoxy added a lot of weight compared to it.

I think epoxy soaks the plywood skins less than balsa.
We used two pumps of West Sytems per wing set and most of it stayed in the cup and on the roller.

It's not going to build itself

I shaped my leading and trailing edges today. Was that 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" sweep?
I think I used 3 pumps of west systems for both cores, with some left over. Glad I was in the ballpark.I don't have one of them thar fancy baggin' things so I'm fixin' to Solartex my wings.
Tom
p.s. the Zephyr got fondled a lot at the Thursday night build.

Thanks Greg. Since I don't think I'll make it out to Banning tomorrow, I may get some more done.

I skinned mine with gorilla glue today. Now they look like a layer cake with too much frosting on it. Should be able to get the wings finished tomorrow unless something comes up.
