I might write some code to bypass the arduino software and make it all point and click, but I wouldn't trust on that.
Interesting. Thanks for the input! I will be watching the reviews for now. Hopefully the range is better than standard spektrum 2.4, becuase that shouldent be too hard to beat...

If thats the case and all you would need to do is configure a few channels to communicate on, it doesnt seem too in depth. We'll see I guess

Yeah, sorry thats what I meant. I shouldn't get ahead of myself to much and see what happens when the first people get the set.

Looks like the system should be plug and play and hops between 3 channels. Flashing it with other firmware might make it better but after I get mine, I'll let you guys know how the stock setup works.
I'm not 100% sure when I'll be placing my order because I'm waiting on a freebie as well since Im ordering over $150

Be carefull, there is no pairing between tx/rx but they are hardcoded to be all same i.e. if there happens to be another tx nearby the rx may decide to listen that other tx without warning. As long as these are rare it is not a likely case though.

By flashing you can select a 32bit magic as well as custom channels.

I ordered one so that I can legally require the schematics from HK :P
I'm curious if they'll follow up with that

Would this thing work in flashing the firmware? I have one already because I flashed er9x

Ok who bought them all?? Both open and cased versions are on BACKORDER!

I think I'm inverted. Maybe.

I think that they released the product before they have it in stock, and they might be backorder for a bit until they actually get shipments in.

i got a few real openlrs rx/tx so i just got the orange tx (rx was out of stock already anyway).

This kind of item usually get out of stock very fast. Melihk should take pride from that at least

Yes that will work but preferably just use a 'ftdi' ie. TTL level usb to serial adapter and it will then work with Arduino software.

I use these which are dirt cheap and work well just need to make the cable.

The sparkfun one will work directly.

Edit: and got a tx and rx ordered from hk too before they sold out.

Does that CP2102 supply 3.3V to the olrs board (since 5V will fry the rfm22b right?) ? Or do you mod it in some way that it supplies 3.3V?

That cp2102 outputs both 3v3 and 5v on separate pins while io is 3v3.

Does the olrs also auto-reset?

So TX,RX pins run on 3.3V right?

Auto reset meaning when programming. Yes if you connect the pin nearest to antenna to dtr on ftdi.

Yes rx/tx is 3v3.
