Well done Tom, as usual!
Thanks a lot for the instructive review and the interesting videos.
I'll wait to see if the first (and generally only) firmware update will fix the Altitude Hold issue before taking the plunge.

Nice Tom. I thought that this quad looked huge in the pictures. I am glad it is almost the size of the Lady Bird. Looks great for my kids to try out RC!

Thanks kosem, one01, composit. This was a very different review for me to do. Trying to fly into walls on purpose.

I added another video. Testing Obstacles Avoidance (2).

EDIT: Just added two outdoor videos.

I tried flying up steps and there is no excessive height jumping like there is when I flew over the table.
I know believe the quad is fine and flying over the table in my videos
caused the excessive height jumping due to the sudden change in height
where the steps are gradual in height and are rounded.

When I was flying 3 feet high and then flew over the table the quad
jumped up 3 feet high to match the level it was at before it was over the table.
Plus this was an instant height change for the quad from going to floor level to table level.

I will edit the review also as I no longer think there is a problem with the Altitude Hold.

Anybody have any ideas? I would love to get the Infra X but don't want to buy a bunch of batteries.

Here is a picture for you. Walkera stock battery. This shows the polarity.

Walkera Infra X

Tom, thank you for the review and videos. This looks like a great thing to fly inside during the winter. Shame the thread has gone so quiet. Was hoping there would be more reports on this amazing quad.

Your welcome Gary.
The Infra X is still very new so there will be more posts and reviews on them soon.

I tried the Infra X with the Infrared Obstacles Avoidance and Ultrasonic Altitude Hold turned off. It flew well. I was able to fly small tight circles.
I also flew it outside up pretty high and far away in almost no wind and it did well. The climb out is not too good but that is due to the heavy weight of the quad and it is not made for performance.

I broke another motor arm landing a bit hard into thick carpet.
I would recommend you buy a spare set of QR Infra X Motor sleeve (QR InfraX-Z-08). Besides these breaking even on thick carpet the quad has been good in a crash hitting walls and wood floors.

Hey! Mine have just arrived!
It's very fun to fly and play inside the house... I've not taken it outside yet, but how can I do this?

4). When turn off the IR Sensor and Infra Sensor switches, the Infra X can make beautiful curvers by using only Aileron and Elevator and no Rudder.

I have a DEVO7E and with FMOD it changes between 3-6 axis only... (in 3 axis I'm I suppose to do flips?)

You have to remove the canopy, there are two dip-switches for ultra-sonic and ir sensors!

Hi, I don't use a fixed ID on any helicopter or quad I own. There are problems with it including clearing it.

I would almost agree with this . . . . If you fly by yourself all the time. Having personally seen two v120s bind to the same tx, I'm a fan of Fixed ID--especially on anything large. Not only will it keep two models from binding to the same tx, it will keep you from binding one model to another model's settings on your own tx. If I bound my 600 using my v120 settings by accident, for example, the results could be tragic.

I've not had an issue with Fixed ID on any of my models, but I have to mention that I don't own an Infra.
