Wow I am surprised there is so little action on this thread! We plankers on the plane forums tend to make hundred page threads in the first few days that a ad campaign like this is revealed, lol. Granted, they turn out to be let downs (hyper taxi, dx18qq).

There are a lot more possible options when it comes to plane design, features and enhancements. It's easy to let your imagination run wild. Advances in heli design usually center around making high priced technology and design more affordable. But, there's nothing really new; hasn't been in years.

Blade Pro series. I think we got a winner. I suspected they would do a "pro grade"
line up a long time ago.

I was going to say a blade 150X, then a 350X, 490X, 520X you get the picture.

A new Era.. how about cheaper part pricing and better quality on there mini and micro heli's.

The model featured is definitely at least a 500 size, given the blade noise from the sound bites I'm more inclined to say a 550 or 600 (especially since they're touting it as being tested for competition). Given the fact it's a kit it should be much more in tune with the competition's pricing.

Huh? $999 for a kit including everything bar the lipo and TX, including a beastx, they're better on value than a Trex kit. All depends on the quality of the electronics really, but arguable the 3GX is rubbish compared to the beastx, so...

That's a lot more than I pay for a Century Swift NX. I'm no 3D pilot, so I can't say if the Blade is worth it. It's just at that price, they will have a lot to prove.

Well it's not aiming to compete with the Swift NX (which isn't a CF frame or a FBL with beastx), I think the clear target for Blade was the Trex 550e 3G, and if you look at it that way they have a very competitive product. It will of course depend on the actual reviews, but on paper at least they have something that looks decent.

I was in the market for a 550 in that price range sometime in Jan, was considering a KDS 550 and Align 550 among others (putting it right in the middle of those two price-wise), so I will definitely wait to see what the reviews are like. If they're good, I might pull the trigger, if only because my LHS is pretty big on blade parts.

This does not have the beast. It does not come with servos, receiver, or flybarless controller. This will be as much as a Gaui X5 Flybarless once complete. Is it just as good or better, I don't know, but it's hard to go against the proven X5 for almost the same price.
