Ascended, what RF module is used or RF part also is your design?

The RF-part is designed by Ascended

It's a completely custom design. I don't know of any RF modules which will have this sort of range and do what we want off the shelf.

Still around 1/3 space left on Atmega328 (with all MAX7456 characters moved to separate file).

Any crazy ideas for things to implement?

Rather than the arrow as home indicator having a rolling compass.
Tried to get a video showing it but haven't one so far...

Code:

  45 50 55 60 65
....|......|......|.....|.....|.....

Jalves is this with implemented "video telemetry"?

Regarding ideas, I personally would still like to have the arrow, but maybe if you could support a magnetometer for compass bearing the way that IceWind describes would be nice..Maybe hmc5883L which could be bought very cheap online.

Unfortunately, that would require a lot of new characters on MAX7456 - which is pretty much already maxed out
Making it run smooth on MAX7456 would also be a problem, as you can only change an entire character at time and not control a single pixel etc. It wouldn't be any problem if a had more character-space available on MAX7456 though.

Have a look at other MAX7456 OSD's and see if you can find anyone that uses small numbers like used in this project for GPS-coordinates, temperature etc. There is a reason why everyone uses huge text for GPS-coordinates - or simply don't have them.

MAX7456 is only made for one size characters, which makes it kinda difficult to work with, when it comes to graphic and things like small text etc.

Point taken, I haven't use the MAX756 so I wasn't aware of it's limitations.
As I saw the side attitude bar I though it would be more flexible in terms of generating graphics.

Well, it would be nice if it was a bit more flexible.

But with the character-space available, it's possible to do a lot of stuff anyway

This is the character-set used atm. (almost)

I'd like to see a radar style direction to home screen as the EagleTree and DragonOSD can do. The arrow can be hard to see at times.

With the radar view you can work out the beamwidth of your antenna and stay within it fairly easily

If it's possible to implement in a descent way, I'll have a look at it

EDIT: Is radar-mode the "floating arrow" around center? MAX7456 is quite limited in regard to graphic, so that's not really possible like the way it's done on Eagletree

Hardware limitations are hardware limitations. Considering Dennis has given this to the community, I think a thank you would be more appropriate than a demand. You can always buy whatever OSD you want you know...

I wasn't demanding anything, I was stating that I think the radar view is vital. Dennis asked for ideas on features.
