Happy Easter Guys

What did the Easter egg say to the boiling water?

It might take me a few minutes to get hard... I just got laid not to long ago and it was really cold in that refrigerator...

Gentlemen .. oil your engines.

Success.
Engines oiled with Remington teflon based lubricant , same as used with firearms.
Noice is down, vibration is down , phantom flying like different machine.

Took wifes garmin forerunner 110 GPS watch to fly around , my own Suunto Ambit is too expensive to flyway :-)

Attached picture is showing my safe distances.

OSD in Phantom

I am attaching a Cyclops Breeze OSD to my Fatshark Predator V2, mainly to let me know how far I am and where the home position is as well as proper battery monitoring while flying FPV.

There are 3 connections for video feed, labelled s, +, -.
+ = video (in or out)
- = ground
s = ? (sound?)

The manual says nothing about "s".

Does anybody know what "s" stands for?

Sh**. I have probably fried both the GoPro and the Fatshark. The "video out" was written across the + sign, but it was meant for the port not that pin! "s" must be signal as skipper1 says. Just a few minutes too late! Thanks anyway skipper1, appreciate the help.

Update: GoPro totally fried!
Fatshark lives on.

Hey Guys,

I have some issues with Phantom Motors that maybe you can help me with:
1) When I fly my Phantom, I hear high pitched whistling sound from the motors
2) When I rotate my props by hand, two motors are relatively smooth, but two other vibrate (tick)

What can I do to fix this? Replace motors, bearings, or maybe oil motors?

I made a quick video to show what I mean
DJI Phantom Motor Issue (1 min 6 sec)

Thanks!

All my motors jump like that from factory. I think it is the magnets doing their thing. I'd be worried about the ones that do not 'jump'.

I haven't opened one up yet, but gotta ask about oiling bearings. Aren't they packed with grease?

If you soak them in acetone to clean them, does that dissolve the grease? Then oil them instead of grease? What kind of oil? What kind of grease?

I've seen one YouTube video where the guy just adds a dab of white lithium grease. I'm confused again.

mkalika - Nothing sounds out of the ordinary to me, there will be motor pitch changes when flying. How were the flight characteristics? Was it holding altitude, dipping to one point without stick input, etc?

The "ticking" you showed on the video is totally normal and is from the magnetic pull. Balancing the props and motor bells will make all rotors consistent. I'd recommend take your motors apart and thoroughly clean the bearings and use a high grade bearing lube, you will notice a difference just by doing this.

Hi Doug

I chose to wire in a spare 3s flight battery hidden in the fuse near one esc
Its a rhino 320 mah

Flight times are normal, i just mentally come back early out of fear before low batt
i have not used a timer on it yet but I'm sure its the 8-10 mins thanks for checking it out.

I would have to rate the 1080 filming of this hundred dollar cam as just about as good as a go pro seeing both footage online

It may not have the stability or light sensitivity but for a third of the price i don't regret the purchase
