What is the little piece of string (included in the bag w/ the wrench and tape) used for? Flossing?

If you have a piece that attaches to the battery door then this would be a replacement. If not, then you can attach this to the frame and the door to prevent it from falling open.

Had a great fun weekend - a bit fustrating because I did could not figure the shakes out at first.. but then I started thinking (yes often highly overrated) and balanced the props.!

Friday out of the box maiden
DJI Phantom - Maiden with GoPro HD Hero3 camera (0 min 0 sec)

Sunday with balanced props
DJI Phantom quad with ReplayXD cam (3 min 55 sec)

@colinguinn Good move on the how-to videos.
Like the idea in the 60sec vid, but if I did not know what RTH is, I would have no idea what happend to that guy.
Rule of thumb in advertising and presentations:
Tell them what you are going to tell them
Then Tell them what you said you were going to tell them
Then Tell them what you told them...

Absolutely love the Phantom, it flies well out of the box and do exactly what I hoped it would. Congratulations of a rock-star product.! (and probably a new category in RC)

Good decision.

Hopefully one of the things you learn quickly via the computer screen is what these propellers do to people when they get hit. I'd hate for you to learn in person. When I fly I tell people specifically, I absolutely refuse to fly over people that I have not had a chance to sit down with and explain the dangers of these things and what to do if things go wrong. Even then I am scared shless.

@Wheels - that kind of makes you exactly the poster-child for success in RC quads.

You really are everything DJI could have hoped for, within a day of picking up your Phantom in box, you are both flying successfully and are having good clean fun with advanced RC fun like FPV.!

I can't think of very many folks getting into FPV and being successful less than 48 hours of their first entry into RC flying.! Way to go.!

@MCrites - Agree 100%
>>I absolutely refuse to fly over people that I have not had a chance to sit down
>>with and explain the dangers of these things and what to do if things go wrong

But for better and for worse, this is likely going to be a issue with things like the Phantom, because there is going to be a bunch of users who have never lost control of a quad, the Phantom is 100% quad and equally dangerous as all other quads, but green users will feel confident in the technology because the Naza+GPS flies it for them. you are going to see these being flown over concerts, swimming pools etc. By folks who, unlike you and me, simply do not expect it to fail.

Dear DJI, I would have loved to see a 4 blade prop with a molded ring all the way around to prevent cuts. Im sure it would be far more difficult to balance than the current prop, but it might be a good install on stock Phantoms. and I would like to own a couple of sets for flying close to people. That don't remove the danger of a dropping drone.. but makes collisions a little less painful.. maybe.
