Brushless ? I found this but don't know if it would work with the pos pcb board on the 9116. I'm a noob and have followed all your mods and done some. The motors are a weak link, take a look and see if it might work.

Thanks guys

Matt

I have been running the standard 9116 tail blade on the Honey Bee tail motor. It works nice but perhaps is running a bit hot, most likely from the extra thrust at lower revs. I have trimmed it back to near the same size of the Honey Bee tail blade and it remains quiet. I broke my HB tail blade if anyone is wondering.

I'm sure you know that you also need a brushless ESC.

I have been kicking around solutions for months.

The best one looks like using a dual RX setup, with the 9116 PCB
and gyro running the tail (and brushed main motor, if you use one)
and the servos hooked to a hobby grade RX to eliminate the strange
9116 mixing.

Several forum members have reported success.

And yes, it actually can bind to (2) receivers at once.

I'm pretty sure you need an aftermarket TX, but the computer
programmable Hobby King radio for $23 would work fine.

The Turnigy 9X would be a wiser investment, and will fly anything.
I just ordered the newer flysky 6ch w/lcd screen for a plane i'm building , don't plan on going past 4ch helis but would love to get this 9116 set up right. You guys have done all the hard work I just need to follow your lead, I don't know if I could have made it this far if I hadn't found this site.

Thanks for all the tips, have fun guys,
Matt

As you can see, there is a better mesh than before, unless you were

Now the pinion gear overlaps (it's a good thing).

Credit for discovery goes to JKoosh27.
Thanks, JKoosh27 for pointing this out.
Well I'm just glad I was finally able to put my 1/4 cent in after all the grunt work seemed to be done...

Snapped 2 pics of the linkages I have now, which is a mix of stock and HK250GT linkages...

If the weather cooperates in the morning I will take her outside to see what I can figure out....

Indoors it's almost too quick to manage anymore, and I hadn't touched the rates since the new mixing arms were added...Hopefully the phasing is close enough to fly...

Everybody get the popcorn ready

Hey Guys,

Has anyone posted a n00b's guide to moving the PCB to the lower deck and what to buy to move the battery to the 45 degree angle most of the elite people have?

I made the tail mod and boy is this thing turning into an awesome helicopter little by little... i'm ready for my next improvement

Thanks

Swing.

And remember, the head pulls the swash, so give the assembly a turn to see what the effective phasing is.
Also make sure you understand what phasing actually is. that word is being thrown around a lot and I don't think everyone gets it.

I may have solved my motor cutout problems today. This morning indoors it was cutting out about every 10 seconds, so I pulled out the V912 PCB. The solder joins on the 4 main wires looked a little sad, so I flashed them up and also made sure there was no chance of any grounding of the PCB from any metal components. Several flights later no sign of a problem...fingers crossed.
