I used to have my own, but a crazy lady gave them away.

hahaha i like you steve

I agree everyone in the rc community needs to band together cause if the government has there way they will soon try to outlaw certain types of rc aircraft..Just like they are trying with firearms....Rc aircraft don't kill ppl the retards behind the sticks kill ppl same as for guns....

Yep. I read it & really feel for her loss but at least the insurance co. came good like mine did when the caravan park was flooded 2 yrs ago.

I was able to clean a few things up, but after a fire?
Zilch is left to recover.

She'll be right.

Gygax,
Seeing as you're running the new 180 BB motor, which batteries are you using & how long a flight time are you getting?

I installed the 180 BB motor & am using 900 mAh, 30C batteries.
I'm getting around 6 or 7 mins indoor practice & then they slowly lose performance. ie; hardly gets off the floor.
I might have to cycle these batteries a few times, as I expected a little more.

I may do a little check on the beastie & see how much current it draws.

hey rajah

ive only had about a minute or less so far with it, before the sad stock batteries i have run out of steam.. (650mah 10C) the stock charger has murdered them slowly it seems. got some 900 mah 25C's on the way

the motor runs fine, nice power while i have charge for it.. it seems to be a handful for my tail motor to hold.. are you getting that too? my tail epa is at 120 and the motor is only about fifteen or so flights in.. made me think the dd mod will help

i just got a B6 charger in the post.. sadly its a clone by the look of it, but it seems to work. ive discharged and balance charged the batteries at 1C.. but only got a very slight improvement in the flight time.. (only got one flight before the rain started AGAIN...)

anyone got any suggestions for trying to revive dying li-ions? maybe balance charge at less than 1C? or just keep discharging and balancing a few more times?
ive been trolliing the battery threads.. and ive got to say the B6 threads are grim. it has a bad rep for fluctuating readings and overcharging.. (genuine or not) mine are out of balance and still the same after a run on the new charger. and they never charge to 4.2, always a few volts short

early days until i get more batteries i think. more reliable results in about a week i hope

btw - if any of you guys find your B6 not balancing properly, try this.. im going to give it a go for sure

Well planes(or cars) for some reason don't give me as hard a time as heloicopters...but the thing about turning is then you are essentially doing tail or nose in depending on the orientation. I would like to be able to hover any orientation without brain mush and lazy finger syndrome....then I am actually in true control of it when wind or anything forces me out of current orientation.

As to the drone ban it certainly seems absurd to us, but it's true that the few mess with our hobby sometimes....I can't find places to drive a nitro car anymore after some did stupid stuff that backfired for everyone...

Rant's now done.... I feel better...kinda

Yep. On both counts. Still running the 2nd standard tail ATM. Waiting for it to expire before changing to the direct drive.
I had to set the Tx left rudder trim a tad to compensate for it.

& I just re-charged 2 batteries & checked them with 2 of my digital multi meters.
My expensive "HIOKI" read, 4.08 volts per cell, the other from "Tricky Dicks" read 4.17 volts per cell.

Shows just how accurate some "good" DMM's aren't.

For Nicke...
Here is the Banana plug to 6 x JST plugs, parallel charging lead you'll need.

Steve, Some clarification...
We call "Dick Smiths Electronics" stores, (now owned by Woolworths), "Tricky Dicks."
They sell good quality stuff & some not so good.
The DMM I bought from them was about 1/4 the cost of the HIOKI, but appears to be more accurate.......That is, according to the iMax & the Low Voltage buzzer thingy.
I might drag out my old faithful & see what it says.

Isn't it funny how you just seem to accumulate "stuff" over the years?
I ended up with 5 MM's, plus an AC clamp tester.
