Omg this thread is soo mutch fun!
I got a hard time keeping up searching info about possible part match for upgrade, work, family, reading this thread

About the "head" for $1 at BG that was only the blade holders right? not the complete head ass.?

I've done some tests to, one worked and one didn't :P

This one didn't...

But this one really did!
I had big truble with left aile, there was none... and some times the reaction on elev and aile was delaied (spelling is not my strong side..)
I noticed that the mainshaft had a rough surface and the swash plate had a hard time to travel.
So I polished the mainshaft with first 200 paper, then 400 and finally metal polish (Autosol)
Haven't had any chance to test outside cuz all the white stuff spread over hole sweden...

I also trimmed the ballancebar weights equal and also the blades, it made it mutch more stable

You got metalballs? I must missed something, which one is it and what linkage do you use?

It uses HK250GT linkage and custom cut rods, some made from
long 1.5mm bolts. To mount the balls you drill the top swash
piece (pulled from a 9104) with a #55 drill bit, and just screw them on.
The 9104 swash uses a brass pivot bushing, reducing slop.
The stock one is plastic.

The FP conversion is actually just a HK250GT w/ a 9116 head, and
uses the HK250GT swashplate, which is 200% better

You got some interesting stuff going on m8
So if I got you right, your 9116 has a modded 9104 swash with metalballs and hk250gt linkage?
Is it possible to fit the 250gt swash to 9116 shaft?

Yeah I bent the balancebar straight again and the shiny shaft was the thing that really worked!

Nicke, If you haven't already tried it, then you might try the Bull Horns approach to the flybar mod for reducing the canopy strikes.

Now I'm searching for upgrade servos, light/lighter, same size, same cc mount, stronger.
Any ideas anyone? Walkera, Skyartec?

I also wonder about the main blade trims some of you did, can you explain how you did?

You're welcome Nicke.
Steve has the low-down on the trimmed blades.
They do not trim the ends, just the trailing edge but by how much?
I can't find the post where he added the details & pics.
He'll be along shortly.

canopy save.

bent bars didnt work for me,,,so I took a piece of poly. (most things come packaged with this stuff) trimmed it to size, painted it and attached it with double sided tape,,
if it breaks--pull it off and replace with new one(it was a free upgade for me) and it keeps the original canopy in order........worked for me, results may vary, user assumes all risks, copyright 2013, member FDIC. <<--disclaimer

sorry---just having fun ..

this mod was for a stock flybar----I also have a shortened one with adj. collars (less prone to strikes)--depends on what kind of flying I want to do...
