Post your plane and specs in my database

I was checking out the photos here and wanted to search by battery type or another spec and could not.

So I decided to make a site where you can search for planes based on width, wing loading, etc...

RC Plane Database

Check it out there are planes at 5 grams on up!

Add your plane, specs, and link it to RCgroups if you have your plane site here.

Perhaps if you have time you can post your motor specs there too thanks!

Only nerd in the village
Steve, would it be possible to edit the entries? I see that the e-mail is displayed directly which would make it easy for spammer to pick up. I would prefer to remove my email address.

I have noticed an increase in my mail since I posted there but it could be a coincidence. I have posted my address here lots with no increase noticable. Maybe there are some spam robots that can be blocked with robots.txt in the root directory.

I did remove all my message rules that blocked most of my spam
a while back though.

Nice database.

Well I just looked and RCGroups just blocks all robots.
Wonder if spambots ignore this. I used to ignore it when
gathering information. Problem with blocking all robots is search engines will not index the site. Sorry to be off topic but it is kind of on topic if we are to post our Email address there then there should be a way to do it without getting the email address on a mailing list.

Editing robots.txt will stop some search engines and any spam robots have no ethics regarding robots.txt as the robots authors do not.

Any web site where your email appears as text is a source for spam bots.

There are a few ways to stop spam one is to print your email address as an image that way it is not available to robots.

There can be a form to send the owner of the plane information which would never reveal the email.

Do you like the form idea?

I will add an edit plane button but held off since you probably don't want another password.

For changes just email them.

Putting in an edit button without passwords can create problems and there is not enough people posting for me to create a system with passwords.

For now the email will not be shown.

Ah I think it was not displaying the email that caused my increase in spam I have discovered a virus on my computer that changes my default email background. I 'm trying to remove it I guess it could be the cause of increase in spam. Thanks for hosting the plane database. It is a great idea. Now if you can get more folks to poist there planes there. Aeronuts have a nice plane examples page and Free Flight Fantasies has a what works list for electric planes maybe a bit outdated but nice info for park flyers.
