i flew the warhawk while it was still in the white with no is fast!i can cruise along at just under 1/2 stick.wot it just ripps there was a 5-7 mph wind on the test day as well.i used a 4-5 prop from a cox .020. it fit the prop adapter just right.the model weighs around 3 1/4 oz. with the 350mah battery.
it is nearly finished now and i should be able to fly it and get some video soon.

Wow ... very nice work. A couple of questions. Is that the original covering material that comes with the kit? What wire/tube did you use for the ails and how where they attached to the ailerons?

Looks real good. As far a a canopy, you could find a paper model P-40 size it up to match your Guillows build and use the frame with the paper kit. You can then CA or UHU glue thin plastic to the inside of the frame work or you can use the plan to make a Depron canopy cover with epoxy and vac form one over it. That said your tape one looks good.

the covering material is top-flite super monocote.the cable for the ailerons is sullivan gold-n-cable #577 gold/yellow as the pkg.reads. i just cut the pieces to length and attached the z bend wire to the cable using 1/16 shrink tube and ca glue.
here is the latest pic.i still need to find the shark mouth decal in 1/24th scale or paint it on.also a few other details to do with the air brush.
yes for me the rear window is a real bear to build on this still needs the window frame painted as well.

thanks, they are a nice challenge to build them with power and keep them light. im very close to completing a fw190 kit 502 using the 6400 brick and the 2s conversion.this uses the same 2200kv motor and 6amp esc and 350mah 20c 2s battery as the p-40 build.
the 190 will be an ounce lighter than the p-40 with the same power
I will do a build thread on it but I like to fly them first

What motor is that? Same as the beast motor?
I'd appreciate a link for the parts you purchased.

there are some more details in the guillows p-40 thread but here is the vid i just made showing function.i have flown the p-40 a few times now and this set up works great.flight times should pass 10 min.i would imagine this will fly any of the 500 series but may be a bit heavy for some.i think it would be great for some of the 20-30 inch span biplanesand may be a while before i get some flight vid as winter has really hit here.
guillows p-40 rc conversion-1/1 (8 min 25 sec)

here is some usefull info regarding gws props on the p-40 set up. i made some adaptors for my watt meter to see how far i could push this set up.350mah 20c 2s battery was full charged for each pull.
the origonal thimble drone .020 cox prop made 3.9 amps @ 28.6 watts
5x3 gws prop went 4.5 amps @ 33 watts
5x3 3 blade gws prop went 5.1 amps @ 33.1 watts
45x40 gws went 4.7 amps @32 watts
45x30 gws went 4.1 amps @ 30 watts
and the 5x4.3 gws went 5.4 amps @ 35.2 watts
