I build in a new towing release. Now i don't have to open the canopy to connect the towing cable (i think it could be also a good idea for the 6m Ka8):

Very nice, Uwe. I think that will also work for the 6M Ka-6 which has a similar setup.

Thanks,

Steve

I just finished framing up a 50% scale kit from Germany. It's the Christen Eagle by Exclusiv-Modelbau. I was very disappointd with the overall engineering. Consistently poor building practices thruout, although ehe materials quality was generally good/excellent. I would have hoped a $2,000 (US) kit would have been designed a bit better. Had it been purchased with my own money, I would have gone ballistic.

The good thing to come out of this was being exposed to models of this size. I had been contemplating a 1/4 scale build of a Kirby Kadet, but realized after seeing the wonderfull flying of the "Baby", that I'm now very interested in a half size version. This primarily because I have a background in aircraft restoration and I really miss working on the real things. However the Eagle convinced me that the same experience can be had with larger models! And at a substantialy lower materials cost. Besides, I have all the balsa I need on hand. I also have some decent three views. What I really need is internal detail. Anyone here know where that info can be found? A set of actual building plans would be ideal.
TIA
Charlie

Hi

We use for towing a piper 1:3 with a Hacker A150-10, 12S-2P-10000 Lipo, XOAR 30x12 Prop. This will tow the baby without any problems from a 60m runway. For landing 60m are a little bit short, i think. Depends on the flying skills
