Well i flew the vampire with the 12 blade fan and all i can say is. The sound is the best I have herd from all the high blade fans.

Also the sound was louder than the 10 blade fan. Normaly a perfectly balanced cs10 is to quite at a distance. With the 12 blade fan on the vampire the woosh sound is herd all the time. But take in considerarion I never flew the vampire on a cs10. Only other planes, and the vampire is a whooshy airframe. So that might have to do with some of the whoosh.

Oh ok, I guess that then makes a good comparison of "ExtremeRC housing with CS10/CS12".
And they will have different blade tip clearances, seeing the CS12 is a larger rotor diameter, so whilst that makes the test 'unequal' it is not unequal a test if the stated criteria is that "In an ExtremeRC alloy housing".
I would expect the CS12 then gets better thrust (tho hardly any amazing, or overly useful, amount) - seeing its tip clearance tolerance would be less... probably half (two thirds?) that of the CS10.

You can hear a CS10 Vampire from as far away as you can see it!! LOL
(well at least with 850W - though I fly it at probably 600w really)

Yeah thats what I thought. But i could only hear whoosh no motor whine. All my other cs10 just go silent to the point that you have no idea if the motor is runing or not.

Geat thread!
Just wondering how this setup
http://parkrcmodels.com/product_info...oducts_id=1407
would compare to the cs12/70mm with say an het or cyclone
I will be running a pair in my Dynam me 262 on 4s 5000mah 35-70c pack
not sure which way to go.
I would like the more scale sound and prefer take off performance, reliability, and maybe even longer flight times to all out speed.
Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks

Its going to pull to many amps at Wot, its beter to get lower KV motors or maybe a 6S set up.

Yes, you would be far better off getting the 6S versions of those fans and using 6S.
It would actually be overkill, as I run 5S 2300kv CS10's and that only needs 40% to 50% throttle to fly scale, and WOT is "overly fast" - which is a relative term... hehe.
But using CS10 with L2855-2300kv cost only $30 each, so it is a very cheap effective power combo.

I haven't had a chance to read through this entire thread.
But,
What is the hot setup for this fan?
What would be a good motor, esc, battery combo?

since the 12-blade is pretty much the same load as the 10-blade you can go by the results of the CS70 data thread

Has anyone found any 1900 or 2000kv motors that fit this fan? Looking to have lower amp draw for a twin setup on 6S.
Thanks

I found this one that comes close....

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dproduct=21480
It should pull around 35A max on 6s.
I tested it's 3000kv brother and they are of good quality.

This inrunner should also do

Thanks Anlucas!
The 2000kv inrunner looks ideal. Not sure 1800kv would be powerful enough.
Cheers

the 2000kV inrunner should be well suited for 6s on the CS70 - but how will it dissipate heat w/out cooling holes?
I would worry about overheating (and bad efficiency, if not failure)
anybody running this motor?
thx for the link, Andreas, anyway

When I click on the link above for the 2000kv motor it takes me to one that is listed as a 11.1 max volt 3s motor. Is the link taking me to the wrong motor or are you saying that 3s motor is safe to run on 6s?
