What JR/Spektrum receiver?

Hello.
I want to know what 2.4 JR or Spektrum receiver can I use in a Xplorer or Satori?
I have the 6255, R921X, 7000, and ar6200. Can I use any of these receivers?
Thanks,
Indgroove

I think you would prefer the 921 or the 7000 as you will need the extra channels. I prefer the AR9300 for the compact size and plenty of channels. As long as you have a full range receiver and enough channels, and can fit it inside, you're good.

The AR7000 does not have an optimal antenna arrangement for sailplane fuses, but it will work. If the R921 will fit, use it, as it has two receivers in the main body vs. just one for the AR7000.

I am using the AR8000 in my Pike Perfection (also used it in F3B ships) and it has been an outstanding performer so far.

Spektrum 9310

I'm going with a 9310 for my new x2 3.8m. Unfortunately it was DOA out of the package. It's presently at Horizon being evaluated.

Are you guys running the antenna inside the fuse or outside?
Thanks

Am expecting to keep the antennae in the fuse. Will have main rx under the servos and satellite on the hatch. Will use the data logger to keep track of fades and holds and respond accordingly.

Okay, the 921 will not fit. Thought about taking the case off but decided against it and will order the sailplane receiver from Horizan.
Thanks for all the input.

I continue to be impressed with the Spektrum AR8000...very compact, short antennas and shows outstanding results on the data logger.

An update here. The unit wasn't DOA at all. It's easy to mis-understand the layout of the ports. I wasn't plugging in the bind plug into the right place. In speaking to HH they advised this is a common occurrence. So it's all good!

I can echo Tom's opinion. Using an 8000 DSM2 RX in my X2 with everything in the fuse had no issues reported on the data log whatsoever in terms of fades, holds, etc.

I use an AR 9300 in my Perfect, with an aditional remote reciever stuck to the underside of the canopy, with its whiskers exposed, and then another 'carbon friendly remote reciever (has a long single whisker) thant is located as far down the back of the fuse as i can get it, with the single whisker exposed through the bottom rear of the rudder. Never any issues with range....

Ar8000,AR7000 and AR6200 only have ch3 failsafe, so IMO they are not suitable for sailplanes.

6255 has failsafe on all channels, JR 921 can do all channels or ch3 only depending on how you bind it.

Getting the proper sailplane receiver would be the best option for an expensive mouldie. They have the right form factor, the right kind of antennae and the right kind of failsafe.
