From what I can see from the manual the retracts are mechanical, like the Flyzone FW-190.

But $229 for the TX-R is not a bad price after all.

And it's 4S compatible, they put a section in the manual to run on 4S.

Nothing wrong with mechanical retracts as long as you know how to adjust them for optimum performance. Durability would be my main issue. I have 3 Flyzone planes and 5 if you count the Tower Hobbies Corsair and P-51 which look like they are made by Flyzone. All are great planes. I plan on getting this one for sure.

One can say that but there are some good examples of mechanicals out there and we can hope they did their homework to get these to do the job. Getting units to cleanly fit the Corsair gull will be a notable accomplishment.

If I had to choose between adding two more servos for retracts vs not, I'd choose not.

One thing I note with the way they've done the l.g. is that the pivot is nearer the leading edge than any others have managed to get with the servoless versions. The Corsair pivot was very close the l.e. and this makes for the best ground handling on the model. I hope the plastic parts on the legs aren't going to be weak.

I'm supposing ST is the maker of this plane, same as the Flyzone FW 190.

Just a matter of choice. I for one could care less if they are mechanical. The ones on my FW 190 are mechanical and work just fine.

The problem with the FW-190 landing gear was the strut, not the retracting mechanism. Let's hope they learnt from that.

I totally agree, but, once you learn how to land her, the problem becomes a non issue. I broke my first set of LG and have not had an issue since. Solution, learn how to land correctly.

Hey Chuck,
My Fw I would belly land and they still broke on mine. I think if you have a rough field they won't hold up period but its still a great flyer as I'm sure this will be as well
