From tip to toe...You make everything look scale. Great Job DD. I am sure going to ask you for some tips and ideas when I am going to do "Skyvan" for myself.

Cheers.

Mounting the Skyvan's wings

Now I'm adding to the two Skyvan's upper fuselage's the "positioning" screws, these screws help keep the wing in place while the rubber band compresses the wing to the fuse.

Rubber-Bands

In order to save weight & keep the construction of these skyvans simple I elected to use rubber bands to fasten the wings to the fuse, I'm using carbon fiber rods as my band pegs., Then I paint them white to help them blend with the fuse.

It's a fine fiddly business.

That is an innovative way to run the rubber bands. Its not you father's rubberband wing attachment. Nice idea.

Thanks Robert! I will add Holding end tabs to the end of the Band rods to ensure the bands don't fall off.

You can call this "DD's Stealth Method"

Thanks Kev, I've done it before on some planes I've built in the past, works pretty good.

Now I'm adding Monokote to the Underside of The Skyvans wings & thus am getting that much closer to completion.

Skyvan wing struts

Now I'm adding the all important wing-struts to the two skyvans, these are simple strips of carbon fiber.

The right weight

Both Skyvans are at this moment about 88% of 1 pound and will have a flying weight of about a pound and a half, that's not bad at all!

Screw The Skyvans

Time to start screwing the control surfaces of the Skyvans together, this will ensure that they are easy to remove and stay on the bird in flight.
