Save the scraps...

Rebuild of this was completely from scraps (except for the cowl, but I have earned the privilege of buy vs. build, since I have build from scratch sea kayaks and such in the past), including seaming the sheeting to make the wide piece on the top deck wrapped to the sides.

During a recent wing repair, sheeting broken off of the port wing became a patch for the starboard:



To the tune of "Every Sperm Is Sacred" from Monty Python's Meaning of Life:

Every scrap is sacred
Every scrap is good
Every scrap is needed
All the balsa wood
Let the heathens throw them
In the garbage pail
We know we can use them
Save them without fail!

Save them scraps!

That looks like what I found when I stripped a TF 1/5 P-47 wing.
