Once you have the PDFs, you can print them at any smaller scale you want -- the easiest way.
You could use iText-based programs as follows: Toolbox to get selected pages, UPDF to untile the selected pages, ScaleAndTile3, _v3u or _v3v, to scale at any size you want and tile the resulting PDF, if needed.
