Super Cub Lawn Jarts

Well, my Bro-in-Law and I saw a neat video on FliteTest.com where they had a "Dart competition" with their FPV.

We thought that would be fun to try, but without the FPV.

Here is my little video of a test.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated it as we have dinner on the line as a bet next summer. Gotta get this tuned in, I want to enjoy a nice steak dinner!!!

You should make the servo horn two sided and add an extra rubberband. That way you could have two bomb loads as opposed to one. Second bomb load means a second chance for a hit.

Hoping to get a video of this in action this coming weekend. I worry if I add a second load of "bombs" that the weight will mess with flight. Plus the extra drag from the flags. This Sunday is the first flight test, we'll see how it goes. Here is the FiteTest.com video:

Super Cub can handle lots of payload.

Well, tested it out a bunch of times today. Seems to me the higher my elevation, spread the flags out better. Here is the video of a few of the drops:

The weight of 10 flags made it kinda squirley to fly. I'm sure its due to the CoG being off. Still, pretty fun! I slowed the video down to half speed so you can see it all happening. Make sure you watch it in HD or it will be hard to see the flags.

My cub setup is a brushless park 480 motor with E-Flite 40a esc. Spektrum400 receiver. I dug out a little hole in the bottom of the cub, hot glued a servo in and hot glued a rubber band off to the side. The drop servo is plugged in to Aileron port I believe on my receiver.

impressive that you used a four channel. Good show. I just would be worried about a premature jettison. Sort of a safety issue.

lol, oh I have had a few of those! Just tried it the one day mind you. Thinking about version 2.0 and what I need to do. It was a blast though. Hopefully I'll get it straight and get some better video. Might not be till next year though now that winter is here.
