T-Motor MT2814-10 770KV and 10 propellers - Efficiency test

Thanks to FPV Model to have made this test possible with his offer to provide four free motors to testers.

T-Motor MT2814-10 770KV 260W 25A motor working on 3S and 4S,
10 propellers: APC 10x4.7, 11x4.7, 12x3.8, 12x4.7 and 13x4.7, GemFan 10x4.5, 10x4.5 CF and 11x4.7, Graupner 10x5 and 11x5.

Test made with:
Turnigy Nano 3S 4000mAh 35-70C,
Hobbywing Pentium 30A, middle timing mode,
Turnigy Servo Tester and Micro Tacho, GWS Servo Tester MT-1,
Junsi PowerLog 6S Wattmeter - Soehnle scale - LogView software,
Friction free test bench, right angle 200mm arms.

Two levels:
- Mid throttle, 50%, usually used to hover
- WOT, 100%, maximum power and thrust
Turnigy Servo Tester offers mid throttle (1.5ms pulse width) and full throttle (2ms) positions.

Test results are below.

Best performing prop with this motor for hover is APC 12x3.8.
This combo seems perfectly suited to a 2kg quad, a 3kg hexa or a 4kg octo.

Pro: This motor is well made, balanced, silent and efficient. It should be durable.
Good efficiency means long running time.
Con: Somewhat heavy (135g with cables and prop adapter) and not cheap.
4S battery doesn't seem suitable, max power allowed being quickly exceeded.

To compare props' efficiency data with other motors, see my previous tests:

Thanks for continual effort in testing. These are the good information that we can use.

Especially when your results validate what I find in real life use.

I really like the way you have presented your tests.

Are you also testing the MT2814-11 and the MT2216-11?

MT2216 should be suitable: http://www.flybrushless.com/motor/view/616

cronalex is looking for combos giving 420g thrust (2500g/6) or more at 50% throttle for his hexa.
Efficiency graphs of 4006 and 4822 are nice but don't seem to be the answer he is waiting for.

2500 or 3000g, MT2814 or MT2216, 10 or 11 turns, 3S or 4S, and after which props?
Play with eCalc, it will help you to make up your mind.

Hover throttle must be between 45 and 50%.
Battery capacity has a direct influence on flight time.
