Chas

I was the good old stinky cellulose dope. The foam that I used was resistant to it

I put tissue on the foam with PVA and doped it just so I could sand it smooth for Solarfilming .

What could possibly go wrong!!

REX XL Work in progress

I was so inspired by Rich's (Safelandings) original design and then Rich's (Ricardo) twice size version that I just couldn't resist building one. Although its just twice size of the original it sure looks a lot more when its sitting on the kitchen table

I'm just waiting for a screw type prop adapter for the blades as I wouldn't trust a collet type to do the job. If the part arrives and the weather behaves itself then I will try some test hops on Friday.

Nice one Chas thats a cracking job!!

Like the twin boom mod....my barn door on a stick does tend to wobble a bit

All the best with the flight tests

The props look to be the same size on both, or is that just cunning camera work?

prop is an APC 13x6.5

with a 60A tunigy esc

on a 3000 20c 4s

Flight time around 5 minutes 30 from fully charged to about 15% left.

I am sure it will go on the Gemini 2 blades.

I did think the rudder would be really twitchy considering its size but it really is a pussy cat regarding that, the only thing is its a bit sensitive in pitch. I moved the battery a bit further forward each time and its better....hang angle is now about 21 degrees....same as little Rex

Hi I'm using an E Max motor BL3526/05 and a 14 x 4W APC Prop. Battery is 5 cell 5000 and ESC is 100A. I get around five minutes flight time and tend to fly it on calm days.
