I'm gonna go ahead and cover her. Doesn't look like I can get to field until tomorrow...MAYBE. So I might as well get her ready for paint. Going to do some airbrush window shopping as well. I think I should prob go w/new radio before airbrush though. Get rid of this Dynam 2.4ghz stuff that came w/Meteor. Decisions ,decisions !!! LOL

Masking paper and white elmer's. Does a nice job and stiffens up foam pretty well. Will be using a waterbased polyurethane after painting.
What do you use??

Well ive done newspaper before but it never stays on good so if i cover i usually use fg cloth and minwax polycrylic. I dont cover every plane though.

I think that if I were to do another Bandit I would NOT cover the entire plane maybe just the belly.
I'm hoping that the coats of poly will be strong enough.

I think covering at least the nose back to wing leading edge is good as most crashes hit the front end

I've covered the belly of a Bandit with Dryer sheets and acrylic sanding sealer from Micheals . It worked pretty well

We come up with some really off-the-wall ideas for these planes.

I did consider the aluminum tape method, but that is not a cheap route to go. I've worked with that stuff doing A/C installs ...isn't good on the fingers either. Can actually start removing skin.

Today's not really a good day to maiden @ Markham its blowing 12-15 right down the runway, but it's really gusty to. Even the turbine guys bugged out. So, this is a good time to do errands and such.
Happy Thanksgiving!
