The South Carolina IMT is a unit under the national AERObridge program. AERObridge is a nationally recognized consortium of civilian aviation personnel — both pilots and support staff — active in disaster response. Their primary mission is to assist both government and non-government organizations by moving people and supplies from where they are, to where they are most needed. As experienced specialists from all avenues of American aviation, they coordinate donated aircraft, volunteer aircrews and vital support teams to integrate with federal, state and local emergency management agencies to make their crisis response more efficient and effective.
The South Carolina group has been developing their expertise over the past few years, and is tasked with expanding regionally through a coordinating team both in Georgia and North Carolina. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, they are seeking people who will dedicate their effort, experience and flying assets to form such a Georgia-based unit.
