Build Log

Lancaster Bomber 60"/1.5m ws.......more Video

Hi everyone, a while ago I started a Lancaster bomber with a 1.5m wingspan, it was my first multi engined big build after mostly turning out smaller Warbirds and pusher jets (see blog https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=309233). I didn't realise it was going to take this long, and I also got involved doing other stuff, but finally now it's almost complete. I need to add just a few more details and finish the paint then I'll take some photos and up load here. In the mean time here's a few earlier pictures I took as I went along, I'll add some more once I've got them off the camera.

Thanks guys. I've now finished everything and she's ready to go. I'll take some photos and post them here before I get time to maiden sometime next week.
Cheers

WOW!!!! Amazing work (as usual), Andy! She is absolutely gorgeous!!! Your finish turned out great! Looking forward to your maiden report! Really like your ESC placement and battery hatch. What is your AUW?

Hey SNice, thank you very much, I just weighed her on the kitchen scales with both batteries in the hatch, the AUW is 42oz or 1200g if you live over here in Europe. I think that's pretty good for a plane with a 60" wingspan. Last week I measured 45oz/1275g of trust from the two Emax motors, so I'm hopeful, but anxious for the maiden...

Just waiting for the rain to stop, it hardly ever rains here in southern Spain, but we've now had 4 days continuous this week ....
Thanks for the thumbs up guys, I'll keep you posted on the maiden.
Andy

Hey Scott, you're right on the easier wiring, and it saved loads of weight with less wire and two less esc's and motors.
