Today I achieved prop making zen - I made a prop and was completely relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed it. Must be getting used to it eh?

Also here is a 6.25x11 made with 150g carbon. I thought it would be too thick but it worked very well indeed. I got it from a very high profile sailboat mast maker via QDR (think Americas Cup boats) and have a suspicion it may even be high modulus.

I don't think you'd break this prop!

It's surprising just how heavy you can go Dean. I used 160g for a lot of my stuff. Even some 240gTwill for the F3D stuff.

miche , thanks, I wunder how much amps will be on same type/size motor only 1900kv...

Could it be ICE 100 shows a little to high amps ?

My calculations says 120-130 amps, 29000rpm with 5s and 1900kv motor..
now what was the rpm tested with these 6x10, hmmm ?? what is mopar who did test ?

Are we there yet?

It was DUP's 4.7 x 6.1 (6.2?) that Mopar did a vid with, you can find it on the 'Build your own folders' thread, middle of this page https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...660562&page=50

How do you mean Sebbe?

Also, a small correction, Miche has the 6.25x11, his is a special size of 6.1x11. Also note with a smaller hub, we reduce the pitch so he's got a 5.7 or 5.8 x ???

Mty (Tamas) has calculated the following for the 4.7*6.1 folder:

From moparmyway's and feefo's data we can use two data points for the 4.7 prop:

46613 RPM, 2621 W
25479 RPM, 425 W

RPM ^ 3 / Pinput = const
46613 ^ 3 / 2621 = 3.864e+10
25479 ^ 3 / 425 = 3.892e+10

The two constants are within 1% from each other, so the data are pretty consistent and the below equation can be used to estimate the required power input (with a MEGA motor) for any RPM (subsonic).

Pin = RPM ^ 3 / 3.864e+10

Oh, for sure, I built the 7x10, 6.25x11 and 6x10 for myself really, no issue with them running at 30K.

I think Arctic flyer ran the 7x10's to 5.5KW, not sure of the RPM though:

sounds nice, thanks,,, I think 5.5kw must be much more then 30K... I feel secure now
