Sounds like you want to do tiled printing, which is done with PDF files. One way to do what you want is to get a PDF printing program like CutePDF or the like. Then you'll print your AutoCAD file to a PDF, followed by printing the PDF file in tiles.

Not sure what you mean there dpot. I use the PDF method converting the drawing to a pdf with Adobe distiller.

autocad tile print

as he is using auto cad if he save as dwf or just open it in design review as a dwg or dxf he can print it from there using tile print with no conversion to pdf or lost of detail
it is good as well for shearing drawings you can password protect then and no changes can be made to the original drawing.
but sum pdf conversions can be Chang back to dwg giving full axis to your drawing.

no problem if you look on your install disk of autodisk or your download folder you should have autodisk design review on it if not go to autodisk website and download it i think it is free to acad users.

You can print directly off your drawing by simply making a box on the defpoints layer. (shown as the white box) Lets assume you are printing letter size paper which is 81/2"x11". The printer uses a 1/2" margin all around so make your box 71/2"x10". Move the box over the area which is to be printed. Select "Print" from the menu. From the CAD print window pick "Window" then select the Defpoints box using object snap settings. This will print the area in that box at full scale. The box being on the Defpoints layer does not print. This works very well for printing small parts or you can add pages together for a larger print.
