I have never seen an Fj-1 fury.


From the few drawings on the net I did this first layout for a 70 mm fan!

i just started a plug for one! 43" long for 70mm not sure when ill have it done though, as the T-38 needs repairs

my drawing is the same size.
It looks like 1 : 10.
But I have to build the draken first.
both the 70 mm and the 90 - 110 mm

i'm all for one offs, hate going to the air park and seeing 15- p-51's, 10- f-86 sabre's, 20-habu's, etc...boring.

D_FAST, Almost, looks like North American took the Fj-1, plugged the exhaust and blew in the intake to get the Sabre. Longer and fatter.

the old centrifugal jet engines were almost as round as a R-2800 radial engine so thays why the fat fuses on early jets

Here is the Xplane rendering of the FJ1 Fury. Dxf file was converted from Xplane.obj file. Dxf can be sliced into sections for formers.

Mike Kulczyk, one of the real pioneers in the D/F movement, had his new one at the Southwest Jet Rally. It is 90mm powered, was in primer and may have flown by now, beautiful piece of work!

that must have been the one i saw at AZ jets a few years back. pretty cool. id like to do a 90mm one at some point too. about 60" ws.
