It's only the dust cover that's come off. The bearing still seems fine, otherwise, but it could be a sign of a lot of movement between the inner and outer race. I won't know until I get it out.

I haven't measured the head speed, but I think it should be somewhere between 3000 and 3300rpm in my 2 idle up settings. This would depend on how efficient the motor is. So not too insane for a 450.

Just test it like the old days, Run it up to 4000 rpm for a second, If it holds it's good for 3200 lol!

They also have a 550DFC all servos, motor, esc, blades, canopy a 3GX for $450 or $400 dollars each if you buy 5 sets....

Ordered some random 450 3GX blades and parts and got them in 3 days so they are legitimate..http://vctrc.en.alibaba.com/productg....html#products
Sorry I missed this, ridge_racer. Thanks for the info about VCTRC. Gosh, I'd be interested to hear what the 550 was like overall. Seems a pretty good price for what is effectively a 550DFC super combo, and probably made by vWinRC.

Thanks. I'm impressed. Look at the finish on those metal parts, and interesting about the thicker/stronger tail.

If I'm ever looking for a rekit of my 550E, I know where I'll be going.

No mention of servos and motor? I know VCTRC has a DS610 servo copy, that would be perfect for this heli.

Got my Compass 4x9x4 bearings. Looks like they're Hongs bearings, made in Hong Kong, lol! Oh well, hopefully the dust covers will stay on these ones...

Glad you were able to locate the replacement bearing. Good question about the servos. I will have to ask him that as well. I hope they do supply 4 clone DS610s..

I have them in the head of my 500pro now for 100 flights and still smooth. It's a win win because they are just trying to supply the best bearings for cars lol!

I measured between the hex holes on the two front balls and the distance is ~44mm.

Both the VCTRC 3GX and Hobbymate HB800 are clones of the version 1 beastx. Both perform equally well albeit the LED layout might suit you more or the color on the 3GX. Just send an email through the contact seller link and Sam Lin will quote you a total price for one.
