Mast update?
Any update on mast availability and pricing? We'll be able to offer carbon masts for the tp52 around $100. This will be a mast blank, but the plan is to add a harken batt car system to the blank. Makes for easy sail changes.
Fairing fairing and more fairing. |

There's no way we could do a mast for 100.00, there's to much labor in our process for it.
With that said I'm quite sure it's in a class of it's own as far as masts for large RC boats go, but that may price us out for some... |

What about using Groovy sections from someone like Sailsetc?
http://www.sailsetc.com/parspar.htm or if you after tear drop Aluminium have a look at page 9 of the ARYA radio waves magazine http://www.radiosailing.org.au/radio...ves%2018-3.pdf |

Masts
I think the masts in arya are pretty small in section size.
The mast we're working on will be like nothing else used in model yachting. Very similar to a real boat. I think overall, we can have something with amazing quality, and low cost due to the engineering behind it, with "mast kits" as an option. Similar outhaul attachment to the battcar system. Loose foot. We'll have more details as we get to that portion of the project. But soon, really soon. Tp52model.blogspot.com We've cut the sheer line on the boat, exciting, a couple spots to touch up still, then we'll glass the plug and create a mold to get hulls out there. The goal of this project is to get a low cost, very cool, large boat out there. By no means does that mean cheap, it just means I'm not making a living off of this project. So we'll be offering $1000 hull kits at cost to get the boat out there. We'll probably offer these for the first fifteen to twenty hulls, to get momentum, and as always, free files to download and build your own. |

What is included in the hull kit? And to what state of finish?

hull kit
We would include hull and deck. Right out of the mold. Finish would be clear epoxy. Ready to be joined, and finished however the owner wants.
Initial estimates are looking to be around $250 for a hull/deck. Where we keep costs down, we aren't billing for development time of the hull design, plug, mold, etc... obviously, if you don't want to build it yourself, We'll do it for you.... but that's gonna cost extra ;-) |

So hull and deck only correct? How much for: keel fin, bulb, rudder
Looking forward to seeing more pics :-) |

pricing
Honestly, I haven't priced anything else yet. But based on the need for lead and the complication of the mold process, we are probably looking at around $100 for a keel and $40 for a rudder.
I'm awaiting some supplies for a rig, but will post pics as soon as we take them. I expect to have the hull plug completed tomorrow. Put the time in now, kick out lots of boats quickly later. |

we will, started building the mast last night. should have the hull blank complete today, and the mold done, or close to being done by Monday. The really time consuming part is waiting for resin to cure.
We'll post mast details on the site, but it was much easier than expected. One piece construction this time around. I'll need to work out a two pice version for shipping in a shipping box later for events and such. but that's down the road. |

Our mast is nearly finished. Will be posting pics in the laminating jig tonight. Then finish coat of resin, and add hardware.
Mold looks great. Awaiting more carbon to pop out our first hull. Our source as promised we'll have it by Friday ! fingers crossed. |

No progress over holidays really. We worked on the plug a little to fix one minor imperfection, then created the new mold. We are in process waxing mold this week and hope to have hull number one out by the weekend.
Fingers crossed. We do have a nice looking carbon mast blank as well, and are excited that we'll have a boat soon. We've got orders for six boats. So we are spending a little extra time on the tooling to prepare. Details to come or check out the site. Tp52model.blogspot.com |

Just checking out the site, looking good.
Curious about the mast, it looks like a round tube not an airfoil section. Am I seeing it right? |
