Kinda waiting to see if you can crack the LED's with 9X mike! Gonna give it a few more days, then choose between a 9x or 949.

949 with the discount code is only ~$40 anyway.

cheers,
Andrew

After building a few 450 size quads, I decided to get a micro quad for this winters indoor flying I bought the 949 from BG and some extra tiger lipo's. after watching some videos of the 929 and 939, they look pretty durable, but now that my order has shipped maybe I should have ordered some replacement booms and props??? I also ordered a helimax 1sq and they both should arrive about the same time, both will be bound to my 9x and one of them is going to get a micro FPV setup:

I was not going to get one of these but hooked up my V929's to T9X.....> Wow !!
They flew very well but now its even better. No more very stiff rudder and jumpy throddle. All works fine. Bound a V911 also and it flys better. Retired two WL Toys TX's and soon another. T9X sure made a difference in smoothness for sure. Just ordered a V939 because of lights.

At 100%, it does not flip. The only way to flip the quad is to press and hold the top-right button and apply full stick movements.

At 60%, holding the top-right button, and apply full stick movements, the quad flips.

V949 Transmitter (with a working top-right button)

Contrary to the manual, it does not flip at 60% while holding on to the top-right button! Flips are only possible at 100% while holding on to that button.
I'm confused. Are the transmitters all called E728? Is there anyway to tell them apart (the v939 and v949)?

It seems as if the ideal transmitter would be the v939 version if you could stop it beeping at 100%.

Could you ask Aaron (to ask WLToys) why the v949 Tx seems to have taken a step backwards (no flip at 60%) from the v939?

I'd be tempted to get a BNF v949 when it's available and a v939 Tx, if I could be sure which revision of the Tx I'd get, but it's getting a bit messy.

Not even sure which version of the board the v929-06 actually is to 'upgrade' a v929 with.

If I buy a V939 and use the included transmitter will the LEDs stay on if I was to use it with my 9x transmitter instead, or is it by default always off?

V929 board vs V949 board

I took my V929 for 2 packs with the V949 transmitter. It was rather apparent that the V949 board is more than just a V929 with LED support. With the same transmitter, the V929 behaved differently to the V949. Details are found in post #2 of this thread.

There appears to be no easy way to differentiate the E728 transmitters that come with the V929, V939, and V929. They look exactly the same.

The transmitter for the V939 is not the most ideal. Instead of accidental flips, you now have accidental consecutive flips. I believe the V949 transmitter is still the best for the V949.

I'm not sure why at 60% the quad does not flip. Perhaps mine is a lemon? Let's wait for the others to verify my observation. But I really don't think this is a big deal. If flipping is expected, the sensitivity would likely be set at 100%.

It may take a whiiiiiile for the BNF to arrive.

Am I right that the LED's are always on then? No way to switch them on and off from the TX?

thanks,
Andrew

And i believe the best transmitter for V949 is ... 9X+ER9X

I know it sounds boring.

But it's so much worth of an investment.

I have now configured my 3 position switch to different rates:

0. leisure indoors flying for V939(60/60/80) and FPV setup for V929 (60/60/40+EXPO on rudder)
1. full 87% rates for blasting around without autoflips
2. 100% rates for autoflips

It's even better for V911's where Daryoon created template for adjusting rudder sensitivity with a pot and custom throttle curve !

I threw all my stock TX'es in the basement - uh i shouldn't have collected 4 of them

I think the Devo owners running deviationX firmware will want the modules out of those RTF transmitter. So they can get FlySky protocol support.

Thats a good idea to recycle them somehow.

Other one is 4x YV911 + charger and my nephew's will have haaaappyyy christmas

I'm readying myself for modding 9X for dual transmitters: FlySky 2.4 + eLeReS 433 mHz UHF for FPV'ing.

Aha! I've got a FlySky CT6B, so would it bind with a v929? If so, what's the magic incantation?

You previously wrote that you need to hold the top right button and apply full stick to flip with the v939 Tx. That's not very accidental.
