I can't answer that. I saw one at the LHS and it looks like pretty crumbly stuff. I remember some guy somewhere on these forums came up with a light coating of something clear to strengthen just this type of foam. Anyone remember that or have any ideas?

Minwax Polycrylic would work. I used it on my Carbon Cub to strengthen the rudder.

Wouldnt that add weight... if its just say the leading edges or something i have used 2 inch packing tape before. My tail on my radien is the weckest point i really need new fuse since vertical tail made to fuse my wings still look great

It's a very light material. I used it with light fiberglass on my cub. I didn't weigh it before or after though.

Brush on. Or you could also get the same product in a spray can. I haven't tried the spray can yet.

HD are designed to be spinned a lot faster. They are a bit like the APC or Graupner. Very thick and rigid propellers near the center, with a sligtly different tip than the DD, allowing for highter tip speed.

Since the 540QQ has a 1800Kv motor, the DD is perfectly fine unless you want to run it on 6S
Wow !! Good info!! Thanks!! I'm using the DD version works great

A 3 blade would look very cool on this plane,, what spinner are you gona use??
Are you gona upgrade the ESC for the higher amp draw of the 3 blade??
Might be good for the extra thrust it would provide

The consensus seems to be either the GWS DD or HD 7x3.5,, I'm using the GWS DD 7x3.5 with very good results noticeable improvement in speed, vertical, acceleration, and hovering, and even slow speed,, at least to me.

I have a Prius,,, and its the PERFECT car for electric RC planes!! I can stuff like 5-6 pretty good size planes in the back,, I hook up my 4 port charger into electrical outlet,, leave car on,, and gas motor will automatically come on and charge the cars battery whenever it needs it,, I can charge 4 plane batteries simultaneously and keep flying planes back to back ALL day long. It's the PERFECT mobile charging platform !!! :-)
