I've found the easiest way to install the gws prop is to remove the prop adapter, remove stock prop, then install gws prop. The nut needs to flipped around, it's fits into the gws hub. Then tighten the prop and install prop adapter to motor shaft. There's just enough clearance between spinner and cowl to stick an allen wench in there to tighten the set screws. Then you'll need to trim the nose cone for prop clearance.

I have the neon orange gws 7x3.5. They were $.99 @ lhs. It's not the slow fly version. The gws seemed to be the most well balanced out of the bunch, much more than stock and apc props. I even balanced the apc but didn't balance the gws!

The problem with gws props is the hub is longer than stock, won't fit adapter unless you shave hub or install nut backwards. If you install it with nut backwards you need to spin the prop to tighten, only problem is motor spins too. I found it much easier to take the adapter off to tighten the prop first.

Very nice review! Gives me some hope for this plane. FedEx says Tuesday for mine. Will have the day off. Many test batts on the way. Stuck in Utah at this time for Thanksgiving. Heading out the door to my favorite LHS to check out the E540QQ. rc |
