Still didn't answer my question though....differential...mentions it in manual. Haven't used it before.

It probably just means dual aileron mode, differential doesnt belong in an aerobatic plane no matter the skill level.

I've subbed too! I'm planning to buy the full-size F-27q for out at the club so this might be good for learning 3-d'ish maneuvers at my local sport oval. It's not too big, expensive or cheap (quality).

Can't wait to see the first reviews and videos!

Tom

P.s. It looks great in the video!

Looks great--but I too would also love a slower, floatier replacement for the umx 300 so I can practice knife edges etc in my 25'x45' of "mostly" branch-free clear airspace front yard (it's small and surrounded with tall trees, so many times if it's too windy at the field it's passable for front yard flying+no commute). I could likely fly the new 540qq in my yard (lots of epp 32 yak and um p-51 flights; but it seems like other than being in high alpha most if the time, it might be really tight and bit speedy for some of the moves with long, graceful lines that the umx300 can do at a slower speed.

what about the power plant on this bird, I wonder if it has power for vertical climbs?

Differential is very important for aerobatic airplanes. Some need it, others don't. Differential simply means that you have less aileron travel in one direction than in the other. This helps make the model roll more axial. The model should roll around an imaginary string through the fuselage and out the spinner. If the model looks as though it rolls around the canopy, or rolls around the landing gear, its likely that you have a differential problem. Many times, it is that you have differential, and don't need it, but there are a few cases where you do need to add some differential. Edges generally need a little to make it roll the straightest. If you don't think this is a big deal to you, the airplane will fly fine without it. Just flies a bit better with it.

Hope this helps.

how is this plane in wind?

this is speculation of course until Chuck tests it out

I am guessing this plane is good in wind of 15mph.

here's why:
considering this 3d plane has a symmertrical wing and the cutting though edge design, weighing 8.30z. I also consider that

my 41" 3dhs edge is good in wind 15-20mph
my v1 sbach good in wind 10mph
my 32" f4u corsair good in wind 10mph
my converted as3x sbach good in wind of 20mph+

If I find this stock plane is not so good in wind then I can
add the hobbyking as3x

How planes behave in the wind is partly a function of design but also related to your flying style. If you like to do a lot of low, slow, and floaty stuff then flying a plane of this size in winds greater than 8mph or so isn't going to be a lot of fun.

I just switch up my flying style a little based on what the wind is doing.

But having said that... most Edge planes do not like the wind very much. Edges don't track as well as something like an Extra. This shows up even more so when it's windy.
