This qq540 has a jst connector for the lipo. I've tried downloading the manual but it was blank, all 19 pages. Just trying to gather info so I can program tx and charge some batteries so I'll be ready lol! It looks like the 3s 450mah 25c hyperion has jst and is same weight as stock. I'm more of a 3d slow flyer so I'm wondering how well this will do on 2s with a bigger prop. Hyperion has a 500mah 2s 35c that weighs around 27g vs 42g for 450mah 3s.

You can always throttle down for slow 3d flying. :-)
Really not trying to be a smart A@@@s ,, just a suggestion. :-)

Yeah, but that doesn't reduce the weight or improve wing loading, and a bigger prop creates more wash for better torque and handling at slow speed. I'm guessing the prop is small with high pitch for a 3s 1800Kv set up.

It's an 8 in prop,, so I'm not sure what you consider big
But you do have a point

Specs say 6.8"x3 for prop, hopefully a 8" prop will work, doesn't look like much room for ground clearance but I could be wrong.

This link is from the manual off of eflite site.
But the link doesn't work yet.

I stand corrected!!! 6.8x 3.5,,, yes does seem a little small doesn't it?? Prob to keep amps down,,, would be nice to find a small 20amp ESC in place of the stock ESC :-)

Testing gave 55 watts at 7 amps on 800mah 45c 2s, and 105W at 10A on 480 30c 3s.
These are post-burst readings with the 7.2x5" P40 prop.(nearly identical to stock 7x6".)
The P40 prop is a good performer and looks good in black.
Those readings above are from the 300 size zero,,, so probably the p-40 prop should work well on this edge as long as you don't fly WOT for long periods. :-)

Almost 7grams more than the current park280.

At some point getting bigger heavier more powerful setups will offer diminishing returns.

As I've said I run the same setup on my Grasshopper and it' flying weight is 2oz more than what the 540's is. My GH flies at a crawl and has pretty much unlimited vertical and it's a scale-ish high wing. The 540 is a sleek sporty frame. I understand that a lot of people will modify it for there own tastes, but going more powerful is probably not needed with this model. If anything people might try to go with super light setups on 2s.

Here it is again if you missed it.
E-Flite Grasshopper (4 min 45 sec)

Yep I think I am going to try a slightly larger prop on 2s to start with this thing. Since the 2s batteries is what I have currently.
