New Product

Yes, you can fly an rc heli off your model ship!

Kyosho has introduced a micro micro heli. It's so tiny, it looks like it would be able to fly from many of the model ships, rescue boat models, etc.

Around 0:50 you can see the IR flashes from the top of the tx. You can't see IR normally, but you can see the color shift from the camcorder.

I still think our Nano is better. We played with some IR ones a while ago and nobody was impressed.

Depending on the lighting, infra red control can have issues indoors also.
I had an early infra red heli that wouldn't fly at a local gym, and would dip under certain
flourecent fixtures as it flew under them.

The dual propeller micro helicopters handle well indoors, but are a bit sketchy outside.
I couldn't get to my boat with the dual propeller Blade mCX, because of the slight breeze on the pond.
The Blade SR could be flown outdoors, as it his plenty of power, but it is
very twitchy, and can be off and gone 50 feet before you know it.

The little helis are a lot of fun indoors and outside at dusk with dead calm conditions.

But that looks to be about five times the size of the Kyosho Egg Mosquito.

Too bad it's infrared. Need to make it regular 2.4Ghz. The military has drones the size of cockroaches, so come on!

Looks like low Reynolds numbers, marginal stability. Skill needed.

I was at the China Toy Expo last week in Shanghai & saw many of those pesky little devils buzzing around. Not sure what you'd want one for except to annoy your fellow co-workers.

That's part of why I like the Nano better.

Eventually they'll offer real 4 channel 2.4GHz helis in the super micro size. It just hasn't happened yet.
