Electric Motor equivalent setup for a 150cc composite IMAC airplane

Hi all,

I have a Krill Models 39% Katana composite airplane sitting in a box waiting for me to get to it. It looks like this winter I'll have the chance to put this beast together. I had originally planned on moving my DA-150 over to this airplane when my 40% Extra 330 crashed or broke, but that has not happened yet (10 years). But by now I'd rather go electric. So I'd like to get a sampling of what planes and setups people are using to fly 150cc-sized Aerobatic airplanes. A good synopsis format would be:

- Airplane (make, wingspan in inches, model)
- Motor
- Prop
- ESC
- Battery cells and capacity (i.e., 12S 5000mAh)
- AUW (lbs.)
- WOT Current (amps)
- WOT Power (watts)
- Flight times (min.)

Tanks in advance,
John

Turnigy/hobbyking has a 150cc rotormax motor. Looks nice but don't have any experience with it. Big ESCs you are looking at the Jeti Spin and MGM Pro and maybe YGE. Hobbyking, fightercat and XPS dont seem to have the HV escs anymore.

Look at my blog and you find some experience and setup data with the Predator 37.

12s CC 160HV is OK, with a strong set of LiPo you will get 11kw power, Mejzliks EVO-L and in combination with F (foam core) you get the lightest and strongest prop available today. 30x13" or 31x12". The 30x13" EVO LF is 220g !!!!.

But if you want a real power punch on a 40% you need to go 14s for power above 12kw, you will have to use props that may rip the blade tips at high rpm and high speed, but you will have 15-16kw of efficient power by using 28x12" to, 29x12", untill there are EVO versions ready in this size the 29x12" S is a good choice. For 14s setups the Jeti SPIN 300 is the way to go (same as Hacker/ Jeti 220) the current will be up to and above 300A.
