What to tell the wife

The wife found the credit card bill for the card I use for this hobby. To say she is mad is the understatement of the year. It was ok when she was mad enough not to talk to me, but now that she is beyond that, I'm not hearing the end of it. I told her to blame you guys for selling such wonderful things at such good prices. She doesn't see the logic in that.
So, how do you guys keep the wife calm when packages are showing up on your doorstep just about every day?

You didn't read the manual ..Santa sends mine to me!! Private bank account and PPal account. Password on my laptop. She actually gets and does more than I do and has never asked me, can I. I have never expected her to. Does she ask me if she can buy another purse or shoes. Do I complain about $50.00 bottles of her shampoo? She wants a new car, her's is a 2010 Accord w/95.000 miles maintained every 4000 miles at the Honda dealership. It's "NEW!!!" I drive a 2002 Ford Ranger S/C Tremor w/156,000 miles on it and will be buried in it!!!! I love it. She is in Portland right now spending like no bodies business on her grandkids and I am enjoying my vacation, two more weeks to be single. zeezee/dave

Go paperless and have items delivered to a friend.
Theoretically of course.

That's why I'm not married !
One club member has to send things to another club members house and stores all his planes there so the wife doesn't know.
Another club member found a site that will mask your CC statement when you make a purchase with them so it resembles something different and unrelated each time.
I say just tell her to go take a pill or two or three !

Slush fund.

Send part of your paycheck off to a hidden account. Have a credit card for that account. Purchase via that CC. Have bill sent to office or P.O. Box.

I'm probably the only one suggesting this, but be completely honest with her. Maybe tell her that from now on, you will inform her of all purchases you make and let her know why you "need" that stuff. Also tell her that instead of spending your money on super expensive hobbies like real planes or cars, you spend it on RC. She is most likely maddest about the fact that you haven't told her about the spending, not the spending itself.

I have money put up in PayPal that I use on the hobby. And when I find something that is a good deal I buy it then tell her after the fact but before the package comes in..

My wife just rolls her eyes. As long as the bills are paid and I'm not trying to drop a lot of money on things she really doesn't mind.
