it says live screen preview via wifi at up to 600' . i think thats fpv .

Not if it's anything like the Wifi Backpac for the Hero 2 which I assume it is much the same. It has a 2-3 second delay and a range of about 80-150m some have found so far.

I know it has a USB > Analog video cable accessories, wondering if it does real-time live view while recording, like it's predecessors. The FPV flyers will need that live view option...

Yes, you don't know what you are talking about. 12fps is a form of time-lapse. anything slower than 24 fps is fast motion aka under cranking aka time lapse. It also shoots intervals. Look at the demo:

The image quality is the best thing out there that you will get for 3-400 bucks. Did you watch the demo in 1080? incredible.... The nex5n is garbage compared to this for video. no camera has 2.7k resolution for this price. it is insane.I have been doing video work since 96 and I must say It is ground breaking to say the least. Things will only get better.

Just in case for those who does not know about 2.7k resolution = More than Double the resolution of 1080p and at 30fps its amazing. The competition has ALOT to keep up. In other words what competition???? There is no competition so far for the Hero3 Black Edition.

The Hero2 still beats all the competition and now the Hero3 sweeps what its left behind

GoPro is like Apple , you can have a lot of Cameras and Phones out there but only 2 work like they suppose to.

Wished they had improved the LCD screen and they way you access the options. I hate how you have to use the shutter and mod buttons, it's a very clumsy way of getting to your options.

Why not separate menu buttons?

And was not long ago I got the Gopro 2, so annoying. If I had known the Gopro 3 was around the corner would have got this instead.

2 cams never hurt anybody. i still have my v1, love it as well. The lcd is a big drag on battery time. I rarely use my lcd. if your putting the camera in the air, no need for an lcd really.

this camera is gonna be great for those of us who dont want to drop $$$ on big dslr's and whatnot....

looks like this will do the same and then some...at least when it comes to video....looks like im going to have to save up ...hmmm...xmas gift??

What do you think about the photo quality? 80% of my work is AP, do you think it is as good as the Sony Nex 5n?

No, not for stills. This is just a somewhat better option for video. I need to see more specs about exposure controls etc on this one but should be really good for video. Stills I would go with nex or better.
