YouTube already supports 4k video and has everything already in place as the new format comes online, but the 2.7k format is not a standard format and may never be supported. There is a 3k format that's a bit bigger, but I'm doubting that there will be anything significantly supported in between 1080p and 4k.

If you upload something to YouTube in 4k, there's a new option when selecting YT video quality called "original", it's above 720 and 1080 on the list. It's possible they did that in order to support a variety of higher def formats, not just 4k.

I've been trying all week to edit and motion stabilize some nice 2.7k footage, and have hit insurmountable barriers in every software package I've tried. The support for UHF formats is just not there yet, despite the claims in software marketing.

Gopro Hero 3 Black - Multirotor Test (2 min 51 sec)

Testing on my Y6. Had to remove isolation dampeners because of the lighter load. I am not really sure what the flickering is. I have noticed this on other go pros as well. Only seems to happen when the sun is just outside of the shot.

Thats probably the prop shadow.

Yep, prop shadows.

Looks like the Y6 is very stable, even in the wind, but need a better anti-vibe camera mount
as you've still got some jello. My very simple cheap mount made from memory foam earplugs
has worked great. I'll soak up vibes even from unbalanced (usually chipped) props.

Duh, prop shadows... how did I not think of that lol

Yeah, that's my AP/AV rig. Super stable with teh HoverFly Pro. I have been flying a beater APM2 quad practicing FPV, and I forgot how amazingly smooth this rig is. Generally it's flying with much more weight on the isolated side (T2i, FPV gear) and does quite well. This GP3 will be going on a TBS disco when it arrives. Planning on trying the ear plug method since i have seen it work before. I just had to get it in the air. I removed some isolators to deal with the weight, but you were correct there still was a bit of jello. If i fly it with the Y6 again, I will probably shift some weight to the mount or just weight until a rig up my gimbal that is on order

Wow, that footage is really amazing. I don't know why big cities with courtyards like that don't do something to control the pigeons. It was like that in Venice when we were there a few years ago.

Great place to test slow motion video though! Haha.

Ok
I have a question.
I did the upgrade/load on the GP3B but not getting the frame rate you guys are getting. 1080 only goes to 50 fps and 720 only goes to 100 fps.
Probably more differences when I look.
Any ideas?

What connector is in your picture. Is it from a gopro composite cable taken apart? I have a gopro H3 composite cable on order. I hope I can take it apart and solder my own wires to it.

No, this is not the original cable.

Seach Google Images or eBay for "10pin miniUSB" and you will find the connector.
Don't know if its fits, because have not received mine yet.

I do think its possible to disassemble/cut the original cable as it got all 10pins in it.

How is the picture quality on the hero3?

It is 12mpx, but how good is it really?

I have googled for pictures, but can`t find any full size.

Does anyone have a link, or maybe upload a fullsize picture?

I can confirm the pinout to be correct, but I too am unsure of the two additional pin functions (4,5).

The hero 3 composite cable works fine for me. It will provide, GND, video and mono audio. You can splice into it for making your own cable. See attached photo...
