[edit]Sorry, I missed the 2nd reply with the screenshot above.
Yes, your card is operating normally.

8 bits per byte. Typically b for bits, and B for bytes.
Class 10 is rated for 10MBytes/sec (80Mbit/s).
Attached is a screenshot showing the write speed of the PNY class 10 micro-SD I'm using.
Hero3 needs at least 30Mbit/s (or roughly 4MB/s).

On another note, GoPro support has responded and said they're working on
the locking up while charging problem. Next firmware, no timeframe.

I also contacted GoPro over the phone after they didn't respond to my emails. They confirmed that the composite cable will work for live video out, but I haven't received mine yet to test it. They also said that the charging problem is a known issue that is being worked out by their engineering team and he added me to his queue so that I would receive an update with info once the problem is resolved.

The poloroid class10 micro sd card states 10MB which is 80Mbits and the Sandisk ultra is advertised as 30MB which is 240Mbits and the hero3 black requires 30Mbits. If this is correct the poloroid speed is 2.6 times the required speed and the Sandisk speed is 8 times the required speed. Is this correct and if it is should I buy the $22 Poloroid card or the Sandisk card which is $32 at Fry 's to be safe????

I can also confirm that the composite video output is working. I see no noticeable lag in the video feed. As you may observe, the audio and control beeps from the gopro sync up with the video and OSD, so there shouldn't be any latency.

HD Hero 3 Black, Video Test (0 min 35 sec)

After analyzing the video frames, the latency is about 3-4 frames or 110ms.

10MB/s will get the job done.

I just got an email back from GoPro regarding the battery charging problems. Here is what they said:

Thanks for calling in today.

Our engineers have developed a new firmware update.

This update should resolve the issues you have been experiencing:

Please let me know how this step works for you.

Trying that update. It takes a *long* time to finish. Longer than the first update did
so let it go for several minutes.

BTW, the firmware version is available in the EXIF information of any still image you take.
So take one before, and again after to verify.
My old version was HD3.03.01.05
New version is HD3.03.01.09

I wasn't sure if I installed the update wrong or if it was just taking forever... There is another binary file in this update. Is that file supposed to do a wifi update of some sort?

I dunno about 2nd binary, but this update does not appear to fix the locking
up while charging problem. I completed the update, took
a photo, shot a little video, turned it off, put it on the charger (battery was already
close to full). Red light never went out. Pulled off charger, and
it's stuck.. again.

Thanks for the info. How does the Hero3 latency compare with the Hero2 latency? Will you be able to FPV test this anytime soon?
